Niall Hobhouse to Emory Smith about current plans for Hadspen

Wednesday, March 8th, 2006

Just a note to say that the Hadspen project is proceeding.

I thought that the revised draft that you sent me was now so clear and well argued that we didn’t need to edit it.

Seeing the Popes for the first time next weekend and will be able to report on their responses. Everybody else, so far, has been very positive. We are still thinking in terms of clearing the site in the next 2 or 3 months and grassing it out so that the next critical date will be sometime in the summer when I would suggest that everybody involved might meet on site and look at what has been proposed, probably with the paths pegged out carefully.

What do you think? Any news your end? Alejandro was murmuring about the possibility of publishing the project and I don’t know if anything has happened on this front.

Emory Smith (FOA) to Niall Hobhouse about current plans for Hadspen

I haven’t heard much on the walled garden front and just wanted to drop a note to see how things are going. Are you still intending to have a friend look at the text of our brief for editorial revision? Is the garden due for its transformation? The warming weather has me thinking about spring. Take care, and I hope all is well.
